What’s your favorite hangout downtown?: CityArts Factory

What juicy tidbit can you share about your favorite downtown memory?: At the Grand Opening of the OVAL Gallery, Mayor Hood was there, hundreds of members, art lovers, lovers, club kids, homeless, et al; we didn't have the drywall up yet on the studios or gallery, so we hung over a hundred paintings on the bare studs (we still call it the night of the well hung bare studs...true story)....Interestingly, earlier that same day we had been pink slipped by Code Enforcement and ordered to close, cease & dissist any remodeling, and admit no one. We opened anyway! There's been art downtown ever since!

What brings you to THE SLICE?: I was a professional magician for about 10 years (from early 70's) and performed at I-Drive hotels, private parties, local TV shows, etc. I was the only professional performer listed in the Orlando Yellow Pages for many years (obviously the city has grown a lot since then!).

Third Thursday was Great!

Thanks to everyone who turned out last night for Third Thursday at CityArts Factory! I sold almost a third of my pieces....but not to worry, I have plenty more, including many of my BEST works. I'll be there many days through the week working on new pieces, so stop by and INSPIRE me! Also, I'll be having a CLOSING reception on Friday, AUGUST 14th, 5-9pm. Thanks again for a great night last night!!!!!!…

Newest Painting!

Marlene London and I will be packing up our art show at Pound Gallery and taking the unsold pieces home.
