Description of Exhibit (August 18 opening):  Approximately 32,000 years ago, humans represented their worlds on the varied surfaces of the Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave in Southern France.  The tradition of depicting life on readily available surfaces continues in contemporary times, with artists leaving their marks on interior and exterior walls, tree trunks, boulders, feathers, flowers, money, food, skateboards, sneakers, and human and non-human bodies. This exhibit focuses on painting, drawing, printing and sculpting on alternative surfaces, and on the creation of unusual textures in art.  Open to all media, including photography printed on unusual surfaces. Any work created on a surface other than paper and canvas will be considered!

Get your work ready to submit!!
