32 Contemporary Artists Transform One Room in Downtown Maitland
Orlando, Florida. February 15, 2010-- Naming themselves Maximum Capacity, 32 contemporary emerging artists from UCF are exhibiting in one showroom at The Village at Lake Lily on 17-92, just past Lake Avenue, next to the Maitland Civic Center. On Friday, April 9th and Saturday, April 10th, Maximum Capacity will host two consecutive opening night parties from 8pm to 12am, followed by open gallery hours throughout the week.
Conducting themselves as professional artists, the group has come together to market, design and construct their own gallery opening. Under the supervision of Professor Robert Reedy, the artists have been given the challenge of acquiring an alternative space and transforming it into an art gallery rivaling venues in New York and Los Angeles. The group came up with the title Maximum Capacity to play on the large number of artists with exceptional talent in an enormous space.
Due to the generosity and special efforts made by Jon C. Wood, President of Urbanscape Properties Inc., the diverse group of artists are able to create an exciting gallery to showcase their unique work. As these students gain professional experience through physically marketing and building their own gallery, they will simultaneously bring cultural capital to the Central Florida area.
The show will be open for seven days:
Friday, April 9th and Saturday, April 10th: 8pm-12am
Sunday, April 11th through Friday, April 16th: 12pm-8pm
