The Holocaust Center has long used exquisite art to tell the many stories of the Holocaust. Art helps us remember the individual stories of that terrible time: the faces and voices of those who died and those who survived, the stories of heroism and mourning, the challenges we face as we try to make “Never Again” a promise for all people in all places.
In January of 2013, in honor of the 75th anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Center asked prominent artists to participate in a juried show that would help us remember the night that we identify as the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end. We asked them to describe in their own medium the history, the importance, and the lessons of Kristallnacht. The response was gratifying.
Join us for the exhibit’s opening reception on Sept. 15 at 2 PM as the works of eighteen artists have been chosen, and will be on display at the Center. We hope that their works will inspire you to use your own talents to remember the past and work for a more just future.
