“Gift of the Magi” is a tale of doomed love told with marionettes, set to live music by a_Scissors. On one side, a stupid girl’s flighty nature is exposed by the magical moon. On the other, a crocodile half-transformed by love is still driven by her animal instincts. Impossibility, anthropomorphism, and a gorgeous electronic score bring the story to life on stage.
