there is peace where I have

stacked diapers, baby blankets, clear plastic bottles

and read the news

where my broken life is once again fused

in blood, DNA and tissue

you are me I am you

and someone else too

I watch the protests I prayed

would come like rain after

the desert sun

like teaching the cold how to love

heliotrope toward the light

and I felt all those cells divide and multiply

it felt so right, love curled up tight inside me

we all come into this world naked and screaming

so why do we stand by now in our clothes

and say nothing?

But hope is a seed a sperm and protozoa

Klaatu had it

It all begins with hope...
