WKMG LOCAL 6 NEWS ANCHORWOMAN LAUREN ROW HOSTED FAMED PHOTOGRAPHER, DOUGLAS KIRKLAND
The Downtown Arts District raised more than $30,000 to support arts and cultural initiatives in Downtown Orlando at their spring fundraiser, “A Look Behind the Lens with Photographer, Douglas Kirkland,” held on Saturday, May 22, at the Church Street Exchange Building.
The event, attended by more than 200 art enthusiasts, included a moderated panel discussion by WKMG Local 6 News anchorwoman, Lauren Rowe, with award-winning photojournalist, Douglas Kirkland of Hollywood Hills, California.
Attendees enjoyed a private viewing of his exclusive Vanity Fair Italy collection, along with Kirkland’s signature celebrity collection.
“We are proud of our commitment to growing the arts through mission-based programs in Downtown Orlando,” said Shanon Larimer, Executive Director of the Downtown Arts District. “It is with the continued support of our sponsors, local government, individual and in-kind contributions that we’ve been able to serve the Orlando community for the past ten years.”
Known for his work on more than 100 movie sets from Titanic and Moulin Rouge to the classic Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Kirkland is a celebrity favorite. He’s photographed some of the world’s most iconic celebrities including Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel, Charlie Chaplin, Judy Garland, Angelina Jolie, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, Ewan McGregor, Jack Nicholson, and more.
