Overdone metaphors

Stiff childlike canvases

Arrested development

Fading middle aged flower

Wilts stinks

Gone to seed menopausal--

Its genes die with it

Obscene scene is a playground

For these ageing children

With no progeny

No one to prove with fresh faces that they were once young too

A year of popularity does not immortality make

Darwin’s survival of the fittest

The species not meant for survival

Are sterile by nature

The last of the line

Wiped out by the dust of time

Not enough of a Dali

Or a Van go to be remembered otherwise

Putrefaction sweet sick diabetic scent of an elderly woman

In a nursing home who never gets

visited

Alone alone

Dry as a

Bone

The vagisal waits

With the dusty vibrator by the narrow bedstead

She pays the orderly

To touch her

Wrinkled untreated leather

Remembering her former

Days as a stripper

Her pound of flesh sold of all its gold

Tarnishes

Oh Horned God dear Lucifer

Why have thou forsaken her?

Like her you have no loyalty

Now she lays herself down to sleep

And when she dies before she wakes

Her soul she sold,

You will take.
