Art Exhibition to Showcase United Arts Artist Development Grantees

United Arts of Central Florida presents Granted!, an exhibition showcasing the works of 44 artists who received Artist Development Grants in 2009, 2010, and 2011. The show will run from August 16 through September 15, 2012, with an opening reception on Thursday, August 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at CityArts Factory in the Downtown Arts District. The event coincides with Third Thursdays and is free and open to the public.

From 2009-2011, 86 talented artists with a broad range of creative disciplines including visual arts, film, literature,  and performing arts, received grants ranging from $1,000-$2,500 for artistic projects or training. A total of $97,400 in grants was awarded over the three-year period in Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties.

This is the third event of its kind – past Granted! exhibitions occurred in 2006 and 2009. The next round of Artist Development Grant applications are due on October 11 at 5 p.m. More information is available at tinyurl.com/artistgrant.

Granted! highlights the vibrant and diverse modes of expression demonstrated by emerging and established artists in Central Florida. Congratulations to all the grantees. For a full list of grantees (2009-2011), please visittinyurl.com/grantedartshow.
