Happy Birthday from me and THE SLICE!

hey its been a long long time

Thank you so much Travis for asking about my vision with the site. I find it a very important question.
You have never met me. In fact, most people haven't. I guess you could say, I am not quite "cooked" enough to come out of the oven - sorta speak. I have been working very hard to get the site off the ground. I have been working on technical, visual, and interactive features that make the artists want to come back.

My personal vision with the site is to give artists a place they can learn to grown and get to know each other. I want to encourage artists to enjoy life again, if they’ve lost it a bit. I want them to dig into their closets, attics, etc… to find their first love. I also want new artists to become part of the site without judgment and intimidation; hoping the interaction with other artists and the tools we supply will encourage them to grow. As a society, we have been conditioned for so long to watch the fulfillment and happiness centered on famous, wealthy or”fortunate” people. Why can't anyone find that moment?

I guess my own personal experience as a child has molded my motivation as well. I wanted to sing and dance so bad. I would practicing sometimes for hours. After a while, it routinely felt like an excited “punctured helium balloon” flying all over the place. I would just finish and then land in “some space”. I had no idea what to do after and no direction. I didn’t know where to go from where I was; feeling down and discouraged as a child. I don’t ever want anyone to feel like that or to EVER give up on their dreams. We only get one shot at all this and if I can do something to make life enjoyable for people I will.

I am currently working on a children’s poetry book, writing songs, and also working on the site. There are many other goals I would like to reach, but time management will play a big factor on when and how I am going to reach them. So for now, I will stick to a few goals, keeping the others in mind.

oh true. well ill be there wednsday to volunteer. but i gotta do this walk thing in lake eola thursady, but ill try.

never collabed before... that means we do a peice together right?

Yeah! An aspiring one. I've always loved photography and have been doing it on my own for a while now. But this semester I've taken my first photography class. Seeing my prints definitely kicked up my ambition of being one :)
