A little about me
My work is a direct reflection of my life. Visual metaphors are alluded to which carry the viewer into the psychological and spiritual world. My art attempts to transcend narrative content and to imply universally understood feelings and states. Art has been released to not only hold realism, but the ability to show expressive meanings and reveal insights. Many artists have used figurative expressionism - Picasso, de Kooning, and others. Today, a gnarled image may express violence or internal struggle. Colors laid in layers reveal depth in emotional turmoil. 4th dimensional aspects reveal many spiritual links to our world and also give us a glimpse of the deeper understanding of the world around us. Art is now free to delve into spiritual expressionism or psychological attraction.

How have you been? I haven't been on this site for a while but trying to get in the habit of visiting it weekly.
If you are interested I preside over the Florida Sculptors guild meetings. You are welcome to check it out and see if you would like to be a part of it. We meet the First Monday of each month unless a holiday.
It's a visual thing. I suppose if I could write about it, I'd be a writer. mixed media artist, papermaker, sculpt in bas relief..... friends of Amy's..... :)
I sculpt a variety of materials and typically lean towards realism--plasticene then make molds and send to a foundry for bronze casting. Or sculpt in self hardening clays, foam with hardcoat over it. I also lifecast and then do the final casting in various gypsums.
What medium do you work in?
I enjoy most art, however I'm drawn to contemporary art and black and white photography. Maybe I'll see you at the next event.
