What juicy tidbit can you share about your favorite downtown memory?
"The Fantasy Swan" Monument at Lake Eola marks the landing spot of Orlando's first-ever cartoon character for the arts---"AngiArts". She landed at Lake Eola on Oct.18, 2008 with her magic pet black-necked swan to fulfill the missions of her destiny.
What brings you to THE SLICE?
I am a costume designer and author who rallies and promotes the arts in downtown Orlando in my OWN way. I created Orlando's first-ever cartoon character for the Arts in 2006 and wrote the story of her life in the book, "The Identity of AngiArts." The book becomes an interactive theatre production, leading the reader through the throes of a lively story describing the fantasy origin of "AngiArts." Then, suddenly, the galley delivers its readers back into the reality of present day inticing them to follow the monument map at the end of the book--which leads to the Monument for Artistic Inspiration, located on the north side of Lake Eola. Marking "AA's" historical landing spot, the "Fantasy Swan" reigns with elegance and grace as "AngiArts" magic pet black-necked swan is released to float about at the Swans of the World Habitat at Lake Eola.
