Downtown Arts District’s Young Artists Group spotlights Orlando’s talented young artists. The Young Artists Group (YAG) gives an outlet for artists 15-21 to express themselves through the joy of art. Art is then displayed at the CityArts Factory every 3RD Thursday of the month to display and sell the YAG's work.
Every month the YAG cultivates creativity, ignites minds, and provides inspiration from local mentors. Each month the next famous artist is waiting to be discovered in the Downtown Arts District's YAG.

The goal for the Young Artists Group (YAG) is to attract exceptional artistic talent, mentor, educate and help bring their remarkable work to audiences throughout the Downtown Arts District and beyond.
The age range for this group is between the ages of 15 and 24 years. Adults in the visual and performing arts interested in becoming a mentor and/or instructor are welcome to join this group. The Group will meet regularly online via the Slice, at CityArts and occasionally at performance venues and galleries in Downtown Orlando.
Monthly Third Thursday Exhibits:
Each month where there has been a mentor workshop held, the YAG members will display their work for that month reflecting the style, subjects and/or mediums of the mentor artist for the month. YAG members will rotate taking the responsibility for curating the YAG exhibit each 3RD Thursday. Adhering to deadlines and gallery guidelines will be a priority in YAG members' artistic development. Gallery themes, such as Halloween, will be incorporated into the YAG exhibits themes, as well. Email kquast@daorlndo.com to join!

SPECIAL SUMMER YAG WORKSHOP FEATURING DOUGLAS NESBIT! We had so many requests for another photography workshop and here it is!! Douglas is back for another day of professional instruction, presentation and inspiration in digital photography. Bring your digital camera and plan on learning from one of the best professional photographers in the business of both fine art photography and commercial photography.
The ideal camera for this workshop is digital camera that can be manually adjusted, not a point and shot camera... BUT PLEASE come if all you have access to is a point and click. You will still be able to particiapte and gain so much valuable insight into photography.
We will see you on July 21 at 1:00! And bring a friend!
Hey, my name is Franklin and i am a new member as well a new artist.
My name is Shauna Jackson. I am a new member as well as a new artist. I am just finding out about all the exciting places to go check out local art. I can't wait to be able to participate, hopefully shortly. I am also a mother of 4 so it is hard to get that extra time as well. All of my painting is inspired by my kids and the world around them. The negativity and ignorance that feeds most people is also a strong inspiration. I want my kids to understand the world and not be sheltered by hatred and differences.
I'm happy to say that I've attended my first 3rd Thursday yesterday and it was a great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing what some of the local artist had to offer and look forward to seeing what comes in the future.
I'd love to know how to get some of my work showcased.
