The Muze and the Writer
Stephen M. Clark

Ladies that linger
on pages in air.
Digital prescriptions
for literary heirs.
Take instead the chance,
to reply and enjoin the dance.
You might find your words
are stronger than you know.
While rejoicing for your approval I am.
a muze becomes a man.
But also a writer can be she,
who turns the muze into me.

Progesterone and Poker

Dicey calls - big players - they fell one by one
Before they saw it coming she was all done
Full house - small straight - the cards flew so fast
Knocked arrogant players right off their ass
Progesterone and Poker - the mix to blame
She played many hands - won all the games
With hormone levels shooting strong as an ox
She had no mercy and was sly like a fox
Bluffing - swearing - full of estrogen
As most hands folded she called "All In"
I sat back and watched this strategy
She took a deep breath then counted to three
Poked her ass straight full of progesterone
Then exhaled in relief with a little moan
I saw what she did - knew her secrets
She almost Op'ed during one of the bets
Panting - foaming - bouncing off walls
She had most poker players by the balls
And I stayed and laughed at all those suckers
They all beat me anyway - damn mother %*#%@^

**I hope I don't offend anyone.  It is not my intent.  I write quirky, funny, and sometimes off-the-wall poetry

Thanks!

Seeking the Guide

by Stephen M. Clark

Once upon a lifetime's day,

went weary I, no joy to stay.

And yet upon this vapid morn,

I cast my soul for sun to warm.

Yea although I am travelled and weary,

and hope is diminished till I see not clearly,

My heart is strong and still it cleaves,

to hope for love and it's blossoming leaves.

For though I am dry and thirsty much,

and lost in the maze of forgotten touch.

I know that the river is flowing near,

where thirst is quenched,

and it's carress endears.

So how can one as lost as me,

enlist the guide that leads to thee?

Critique My Poetry

Critique my poetry in which I speak
Is that not who I am?
For a poet if posed as a proper pompous
Would indeed be so grand
Yet I am stricken with silly speech
and segregated as such
To mark my melodies in mangled madness
And make my message as much
So read my ramblings and rapid remarks
and receive them as remarkable reward
For in my individuality I invite inventors
And ingest imperial idiots inward
