Solitude on a Hill

by Stephen the Poet

Daring darkly into my vast accent,

I render mummerings of passages bent.

Dank and hollow the pathway grows,

still I manage to strike a pose.

Not for glory.  Not for long,

My voice breaks out in Winter's song.

Bellowing low into the night.

I strain to hear a reply..

Racquel, I love your poem, No Regrets. I've dab into poetry writing and admire those can write it.

Felicia, I visited your page and your artwork is so vibrant and alive with color.

Thank you both for the welcome. I look forward to our connections, too.

Hello,

I love writers and artists groups. I'm a lifetime artist. Sometime after June of 2001, I was sucked into the writing world. How and why I started writing is a long one story that I will not go into.

The shorten version about me is that now I'm a published author with two novels out and I’m almost through with my third novel.  I’m a publisher and have four authors on board; one will be releasing her book in April 2014. My innovative publishing company is JoHazel Publishing. I hope you will visit the web page www.johazelpublishing.com  and be sure to connect with me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/JoHazelPublishing .

My company started in 2006; however, I only opened up to new authors this year. I launched a writing contest in 2013 and put out a call to artists for an art contest. The winning entries from both contests, art and writing, would be go into a book of stories and artwork. The project was truly a work of love. The book, The Extraordinary Woman Next Door, was just released this month (February 2014.) Beautiful stories and beautiful pictures.

My call for artists for the art contest was posted here on the Orlando Slice. Online newspapers and press releases went out in Florida and on up the eastern coast all the way up to Connecticut. One of the winning artists actually is a Slice community member, Robyn Bazemore and she lives in Orlando!

I currently live in Tampa but grew up and lived in Orlando from the age of six until thirty-something. My latest novel was released this year. It's a psychological thriller/romance titled, The Rainbow Murders, which is available on Amazon and my publishing website.

I love helping authors and hope to share any opportunities with the group that I know about. A great place to broaden your horizons is by joining LinkedIn, an online networking group where you will find professionals from all occupations and from all around the world. I’ve connected with authors in France, England, and all parts of the US from this network group. If you are a member, please look me up and send me a connection request.

I hope to do one of the gallery hops or other events planned in Orlando so maybe we’ll meet face-to-face. I’m only two short hours away and one of my sons lives in Winter Park. I’m happy to be part of your group.

Do Not Regret

Do not regret the eyes that pass
A glance that quickly says goodbye
For in this one chance
Is a soft settle dance
With a song for the rest of your life

Do not regret the haunting face
Of a love that could've been
For when a flesh feels so much
Of this eternal touch
It finds in night its secret sin

Do not regret times you've given
For it is all of who you are
And you cannot change
The depths of your pains
It is the world within your heart

Do not regret anything about you
For the history is your own story
And though it may seem
Many have stolen your dreams
They have not taken away your glory

Do not regret what you have not done
In time you will find your way
If it was not for my hurt
I would have not found words
To put together what you have read today

I have self-published my book, Lost Soul Found, which is now available at createspace.com/3566079. I am looking for other authors in the area that are willing to take a look at it and write a review. If interested please let me know. Thank You

You all are too kind and I'm enjoying the exchange here -- keep it going and spread the word.  I think this Group has legs.
