CityArts Factory in association with Holly Tharp and Chad Pollpeter offer The “Classic” Figure Workshop: 

When: 4 week workshop starting Wednesday Night Workshop May 23^rd, May 30^th, June 6^th and June 13, 2012

Where: CityArts Factory 29 S Orange Ave. Orlando FL 32801
Time: 6:30 - 8:30pm
Cost: $15 per class or $50 for all four

Workshop Descriptions:
Week 1) Beginner- "Build a Figure" participants will learn how to build a human figure through site-measuring, gestures and construction shapes.  Model poses will be no longer than 10 minutes.  

Week 2) Novice- "Contours and Edges" participants will take the human form from basic building to defining the form through contour, edges and positive and negative space. Model poses no longer than 15 minutes.

Week 3) Intermediate- "Defining the Figure" - participants will use value to create volume in the figure and study foreshortening techniques. Model poses no longer than 20 minutes.

Week 4) Advanced- "open sitting" - participants use knowledge from previous workshops to complete figurative studies.  Limited instruction, open to interpretation. Model poses no longer than 30 minutes.

Students completing the advanced workshop will have the opportunity to hang their work for the exhibit closing reception June 15, 2012

Students will be required to bring the following supplies:

List of supplies: vine charcoal, conte, china marker or other drawing tools (artists choice) newsprint, sketchbook or other paper medium, eraser
