Orlando's largest fashion event of 2013 is fast-approaching. Mark your calendars for the second annual Orlando Fashion Week (OFW), which is set to kick off on April 9 with a fun-filled event to be held at downtown hotspot, Ember.
The first party of the week will be an opportunity for attendees to network with local businesses and sponsors, as well as catch a glimpse of the OFW models. More importantly, OFW is making its return in support of the American Cancer Society. Last year's pre-show charity events proved to be successful, so the OFW team has planned a silent auction to take place during the kick-off party. All the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Following the 9th, the fashion function will move to The Abbey, located on Eola Drive in downtown Orlando. Spectators will witness the hardwork of local designers come to life on the runway on April 10 and 11, starting at 8 p.m.
Over 200 guests per night were captivated by last year's shows, and the OFW team is working to increase attendees and gain recognition for our talented designers and models. Attendees can expect to see collections of sports wear, evening wear, swimwear, accessories, and couture. OFW 2012 Designer of the Year in swimwear, Angee Hernandez, will be returning, and the OFW team is proud to debut the "Pink Buttercup" fashion line, designed and crafted by one of Orlando's most talented 9 year olds, Talia Marie Gill. After-parties will be held on both nights at the rooftop hideaway, Latitudes, which is also located downtown.
We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to network with business professionals and the fashion enthusiasts in the Orlando area. Orlando Fashion Week is a superb way to get involved with the community and support not only local talent, but also the American Cancer Society. Give yourself a reason to dress up and bring a friend to watch culture and art flourish in the form of fashion!
