“Lousy T-Shirt” – The first collaborative project to be realized as a result of “The Swan Boat Talks”, this interactive work involves trading the shirts or tops of 1st Thursdays patrons with a limited edition “Lousy T-Shirt” designed by artists Brian Feldman and Johannah O’Donnell.
The “Lousy T-Shirt” is not for sale and only obtainable by attending 1st Thursdays and actively participating in the trade, while supplies last. Early arrival suggested.
“The Swan Boat Talks” were individual one hour talks held in January 2010 with 10 Orlando artists Brian Feldman had yet to work with - on a swan boat in the middle of Lake Eola. The intent of these public/private talks was to work towards 10 new collaborative projects to take place either in or outside of Orlando, prior to the end of 2010, and separate from any projects either artist had previously announced. At the end of 2010, when none of these projects had yet been realized, the self-imposed deadline was moved to the end of the decade.
Sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture.
About the Artists
Brian Feldman is an award-winning conceptual artist, working primarily in time-based performance. The recipient of the 2011 State of Florida Individual Artist Fellowship, he is best known for leaping off of a ladder 366 times over 24 hours (“Leap Year Day”) and eating dinner on stage with his real life family over 40 times (“The Feldman Dynamic”), in addition to over 75 other projects he has presented through Brian Feldman Projects since August 2003. http://j.mp/bfpfb (FB) http://brianfeldman.com/projects
Johannah O’Donnell creates explosive, vibrant paintings in acrylic on wood panel, using neon color schemes with rich multi-layered backgrounds. Though the paintings are primarily portraits that question our collective view of beauty, her panels are also rich with existential sub themes. Represented by Bold Hype Gallery. http://johannahodonnell.com http://facebook.com/johannah.odonnell (FB)
