Event Description
Being a pioneer in Central Florida meant living off the land, figuring out how to stay cool, and avoiding deadly bugs and animals. Hear stories from “Growing Up In Old Orlando,” fifty short essays about Central Florida pioneer families. A native Floridian, Walter “Buckie” Allen is a World War II veteran and past District Governor of the Rotary International. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and has published six books. 1-2:30 p.m.; followed by book signing. Free. Refreshments provided. Call (407) 836-7010 to register.
