Event Description

Children's book author, L. E. Chavous, will be in our gallery offering a special reading of his latest book "Dreams of Our Ancestors." Be amazed as Chavous provides a glimpse into who the ancestors of African-Americans were and what their lives were like before the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. This beautifully-illustrated children's book provides an easy to understand narrative that explains the rarely told truths of the many contributions made by Africans.

Bronze Kingdom

Visit our impressive 16,000-square-foot art gallery is conveniently located in the Orlando Fashion Square Mall.  Collector, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, Mr. Rawlvan R. Bennett acquired this work over 37 years directly from African leaders through cultivated relationships and respectful negotiations, building schools, hospitals, and bridges for West African communities.

With over 2,000 pieces, Bronze Kingdom represents an important spectrum of African bronze, beaded, and wood sculptures from all over the continent including Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, and The Democratic Republic of The Congo.  Especially notable are grand palatial pieces from the Benin and Bamoun tribal kingdoms, some dating back to the early 1600s.
