Now on their third year, the Canine Memorial at Lake Baldwin is a one-of-kind event that brings together animal lovers from near and far to celebrate the bond between human and "man's best friend."
Through the use of music, lantern dedication, and other activities, the memorial helps attendees support one another as they come to terms with the loss of their canine companions.
This year’s event differs from previous years in that the entire ceremony, including the glittering procession, will take place at Harbor Park. There will also be an interactive project by Linda Brant entitled 'Mourned and Unmourned.' Brant created a series of collages from the paper remnants to represent the canine companions that we have mourned. To represent the ‘unmourned,’ Brant will invite attendees to help her hang 1583 dog tags inscribed with the word ‘Unknown,’ on site at Harbor Park.
An event you won't want to miss!
Please reserve your lantern to guarantee availability, absentee lanterns available as well. As in previous years, we respectfully request that attendees refrain from bringing their dogs. For more information: contact Jannette at 561-577-7050 or info@FloatingLanternMemorials.com
