My mission is to have an art show to promote awareness as well as raise funds for Third Hope Uganda. I have been in direct contact with the creator of Third Hope Uganda; Patrick Ojera, and speak daily about the hardships they face. We have been discussing the positive effects art has on the community and decided to have an art show. Any form of art is acceptable. Poetry, painting, sculpting, etc..This event will be an ongoing exhibition as well as a silent auction.
To participate in the art show you must be willing to donate one original piece to the silent auction. If you donate one then you can bring one for the art exhibit, if you donate two then bring two..etc.. ALL pieces donated to the auction will be to raise money for Third Hope Uganda. 100% of sales from the auction will go directly to the women and children in Uganda. For each piece of art that sells from the exhibit, Third Hope will get 20% and the artist will receive 80%.
To “Stand Together” with us and be part of this show there will be a $5 submission fee per artist, not per piece. There are no restrictions on size, quantity, or mediums used. All art work must be ready to hang. All pieces must be labeled on back with title, artist name, price (if in exhibit) or starting bid for auction. There are also locations outside to set up live paintings, beading, sculpting, etc…If you choose to do this there is a $20 set up fee. The $20 will go to Third Hope Uganda and any sales go to the artist. The artist will be responsible for all necessary equipment; chairs, tables, tents, lighting, etc..
The opening ceremony will be on Saturday, November 3rd starting at 6pm at “Taste” downtown in College Park. The bidding for the auction will start at 8pm and end promptly at 10pm. There will also be large items being raffled off during the night. All pieces must be submitted by Monday, October 29th. Exact times are unknown as of now. For more information reguarding the show please email me at frggy202sml@yahoo.com feel free to call 407-715-5724 please do not call after 5pm. or just message me on facebook. facebook.com/ashaunaarts
Times may vary so please check updates often. If anything changes I will post it as soon as I know.
I also shipped a box to the kids in Gulu, Uganda full of art supplies and disposable cameras. The kids will be sending their art work back so that we can display it at the show as well. Thank you to Vickie and Jenn for the donations in helping to make that happen!
